The Choice To Live Extraordinarily
“It never fails to amaze how the most ordinary day can be catapulted into the extraordinary in the blink of an eye.” - Jodi Picoult.
Here's what nobody tells us about
‘having it all’...
We can check every box: the career, the title, the accolades, the life that looks perfect from the outside, and still feel like we're running on someone else's operating system.
As though there's a version of us buried under years of ‘should’, ‘supposed to’ and ‘this is just how it's done.’
That's what brought sixteen incredible strangers to Morocco. Not because their lives felt empty but because something inside each of us was waking up to the question:
What if I stopped living on autopilot?
Mostly, ‘life’ has a pretty muddy reputation. Life is…
… hard
… short
… full of surprises
… what happens to us while we are making other plans
But what if we could choose differently?
We’ve worked with humans from all over the world who are striving to find their purpose and connect with the incredible essence of what it means to be alive and thriving.
Might we suggest: It’s entirely up to us which words we use to complete the phrase, ‘life is…’ And, notice the impact.
Life is [hard]... and, so it will be.
Life is [extraordinary]... so it will be.
That was our mission in Morocco. To shift the limiting stories we tell about ourselves to ourselves and to the world about who we are and what we are capable of achieving in our lives.
“There’s something about being in a completely different culture that shakes you out of your autopilot. Marrakech was immersive, vibrant and disorienting in just the right way. It helped me see my life and my leadership with fresh eyes.”
There’s no checking our usual boxes when we’re steeped in an entirely unfamiliar context, surrounded by humans who do not view us through the lens of the roles we typically characterize ourselves by…
For eight days, we weren't CEOs, executives or any of the labels we wear at home. We were just humans, doing what most find to be rather confronting: facing ourselves.
Marrakech didn't simply host our transformation; it participated in it. It held up a mirror for us to decide whether the chaos and vibrancy we were surrounded by resembled an inner awakening of our own multifaceted nature, scratching to move beyond the boxes we put ourselves into.
“This is for anyone who seeks to be ‘the Captain of their soul’ and is looking for concrete mindsets and tools to do so. The work during the Experience is diverse and purposeful. It includes recognizing stories that no longer serve us, identifying our strengths and our choices, learning how to ask for and give feedback, and planning in detail how to acquire new skills and habits.”
Stepping In and Stepping Up
“This wasn't about checking out. It was about stepping back in with more clarity, sharper focus and a renewed commitment to what matters most."
For the next 100 days, this community will practice what we promised. We'll support each other. Challenge each other. Hold each other accountable to the extraordinary lives we spoke into being.
Because here's what we know to be true: the choice to live extraordinarily isn't made once. It's made every single day.
It's made in the mornings we choose ‘I’m ready to go’ over ‘I’m not a morning person’.
It's made in the meetings we lead with confidence and grace, not fear and resistance.
It's made in the moments we choose differently from what we’ve always done and choose to step into the shoes of our future self.
An Invitation
If you're reading this and feeling a stirring, a sense that there's more, that it's time, that something needs to shift but you’re not sure where to go or what to do…
You’re not stuck, you’re not alone and you’re not lost… Or maybe you are! Either way, you are in the midst of your own evolution, the messy middle of reinvention! The pit in your stomach, lump in your throat, twitch in your eye… THIS is the place from which we reinvent what is possible for our lives.
The extraordinary isn't reserved for other people. It's not hiding behind some mystery we haven't found the key to yet. It's waiting behind a single choice: choosing YOU.
What if, today, you chose "extraordinary"?
